  • Got to be 5 stars as it contains the best country song of all time within.... The Rubber Room. A psychedelic country tract with requisite weeping pedal steel plus lashings of phenomenal echo on the lead vocal line. The lyrics have to be heard to be believed: "When a man sees things and hears sounds that ain't there - he's headed for the rubber room..... From his blurry vision of doom.... a psycho-o-o-o in the rubber room" (tons of echo on the 'psycho' part).I first heard this song on the Wavy Gravy compilation but it sounded like a 10th generation cassette copy the repro was so poor. I was highly delighted to pick up this album a few years later. Well done Porter - you wrote a good song there.
