  • This is a very overlooked Sub Base gem by the same purveyors of the Dead Dred Sound (Ascend + Ultravibe). For me it was an excellent intro to a jump up drum and bass style that included very artistic use of sampling (in this case particularly a few vocal samples, "Bubble and Wine" and a few other words. By chopping and all around screwing several samples and using deft arrangements, it really stands out as a mental sort of sampladelic 96 jungle tune using the samples/vox as an instrument to flesh out of the character of the track. Essential for any fans of the jump up sound. The flip side "Jelly" is another jump-up exercise with some stepper's delight breaks and roaring and rolling basslines.
