  • If there were ever a better group of men that clung together in a "One for All and a All for One!" This was the group. From the ashes of some very seminal undiscovered punks bands such as the Brain Police, The Lips are Back and the Itch came the Latin Dogs. A self produced DIY project that was paid for by the earnings of live performance and back in those days it took many-many shows to get enough to cash to pay for a pressing of a 7" record. Recorded on a 4 track reel to reel; by the folks who produced & ran Michigan Outdoors TV show, Printed by a downtown shady business that went out of business during the pressing, and the band gained entrance to the building to pick up the 1/2 finsihed printed sleeves. This record put their early Political stance at attention. The power of a Marshal stack and Gibson SG backed by a Fender P bass with Ampegs at full volume, driven by a thin wiry straight ahead drummer, fueled by a Jack Daniels drenched rebellious singer, mixed with Duct tape, home made Beer and corn nuts. The power of Punk music, with two 6 foot guitarist sandwiched a cocky political savvy singer who was not afraid of bold and precise statements. The Latin Dogs were deflected and rejected from popular punk circles, yet remained influential enough to carve out their own fan base in Grand Rapids, Detroit, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and east Lansing. Years had past and the record has held it's own merit, many of punk social clicks of the early 1980's had missed out on a band of brothers' "who stood tall and rebellious" and fought against all things that were wrong. Ahead of their time and ignored by their peers. These records have been sought after for over 2 decades now. I have sold all of mine. I have just one copy left. They have been bootlegged, and have appeared on Blood Stains 12" comps. There are cassette tapes and live board tapes floating around. $200 bucks is a fair price for a band that will never see a reunion, kids and fans who can say they own this original record have a piece of Michigan Rock & Roll history that is hard to come by. My soul had been shined and polished by these men, as I took what they had taught me and furthered it in my own musical assault. Long Live the era of DIY hardcore "One for All & All for One" We will be hard pressed to ever wittiness a scene as this one, a Harley riding, Ass kicking, Political in your face down right Dirty punk band. Way ahead of their time and a mega level ahead of their peers. Buy it; even if it is the bootleg, just buy it and witness a sincere heartfelt hardcore band.
